Clover Time Wiki

Clover Time Common Grimoires

The Common band is published at 50%, and it contains four books: Earth, Fire, Snow and Water. That means half of every player's rolls land on one of these four — which is why "is this worth keeping" is the first question most people ask. All four are compared on this page rather than split across four near-identical ones, because they genuinely are close variants of a single kit.

If you rolled one of these, the short answer: Snow and Water are the two the tier list calls fine to progress with, Earth and Fire are the two it calls reroll candidates. But do not reroll away a working setup to chase an S tier — race, class and trait all stack on top of the book.

The four, side by side

They share more than a rarity band. All four publish the same basic attack — the M1 at 21 base damage scaling off Strength — so a Strength build does nothing for any of them. And more than one of them publishes the same top hit: the highest single figure in this band appears on two different books. Treat the four as one kit with different colours, not as four separate rolls.

The practical consequence: what separates these four is not raw damage, it is the shape of the kit — how many abilities you get, how long they take to come back, and whether any of them needs stat points before it unlocks. Snow is the only one of the four with 4 abilities, and the only one with a real stat gate attached.

Every figure below is from the developer's own card. Where a cell reads "Not published", the board is genuinely empty — we do not estimate.

Earth Common Common band · 3 abilities · C tier

AbilityBase damageCooldownPoints reqScales with
M121——Strenght
Stone Push807s0Power
Stone Edge9511s0Power

C tier — Reroll when you can afford it. Three abilities with no utility, no crowd control and a top hit of 95.

Fire Common Common band · 3 abilities · C tier

AbilityBase damageCooldownPoints reqScales with
M121——Strenght
Fire Ball959s0Power
Fire Ground15/Tick15s0Power

C tier — Reroll when you can afford it. The smallest kit in the game at three abilities, and it shares its damage figures with Earth.

Snow Common Common band · 4 abilities · B tier

AbilityBase damageCooldownPoints reqScales with
M121——Strenght
Snow Barrage18/Ball7s0Power
Snow Storm12/Tick16s0Power
Snow Friends18/Ball32s50Power

B tier — Fine to progress with. Four abilities including a 32-second ultimate that needs 50 stat points. Solid but nothing it does is best in class.

Water Common Common band · 3 abilities · B tier

AbilityBase damageCooldownPoints reqScales with
M121——Strenght
Water Sprout2/Tick14s0Power
Water Barrage5/projectile16s0Power

B tier — Fine to progress with. The weakest published damage profile — 2 per tick and 5 per projectile on its main abilities.

"Points req" is the number of stat points you must have spent in total to unlock the ability — a cumulative gate, not a cost per ability. Damage shapes are not directly comparable across these tables: a per-tick or per-ball figure describes one instance, not one cast, so it cannot be lined up against a single-hit number.

Odds of rolling one of the four

The figure the developer publishes is the band rate: 50% across the Common band, which contains all four of these books. That is about ~2.0 rolls to land on a Common book — it is not a per-book rate, and the board does not publish one. Lining the four up side by side, the honest reading is that a specific one of them is considerably rarer than the band figure suggests, and we will not invent a number to fill that gap.

There is also no published pity ceiling for the Common band. The Grimoire Tower's guaranteed ladder only covers Epic, Legendary and Mythic, so at this end of the table the pity counter never comes into play. The pity ladder is documented on the hub page for the bands it actually covers.

Should you keep it?

Probably, if it is your first book. 50% of rolls land in this band, so waiting for an Epic or better before you start playing means sitting out most of the early game. Snow carries the biggest kit of the four and Water has the weakest published damage profile, so if you are choosing between two of them and everything else is equal, Snow is the one to keep.

Rerolling is a question about your whole setup, not just the book. Race, social class and trait are rolled separately and all stack on top of the grimoire, so a Common book with a strong passive set will outperform a better book with nothing behind it. The grimoire tier list carries the full keep-or-reroll list.
