Clover Time Grimoires
The Clover Time grimoire list as a reference table — all ten launch books with their rarity band, published drop rate, expected spins, ability count and the highest published hit in each kit. 51 published abilities across the ten, 35 of them with damage figures attached.
Each grimoire name below is a link to that book's full ability list. Every book has its own page, except the four Common books (Earth, Fire, Snow and Water), which are compared together on the Common band page.
| Grimoire | Rarity | Drop rate | Expected spins | 50% chance by | 90% chance by | Abilities | Highest published hit |

† Band rate, not a per-book rate. The developer publishes odds per rarity band, and two bands pool several books: Common and Epic. For those rows the drop rate, the expected spins and the "50% / 90% chance by" columns all describe any book in that band, not that specific grimoire. The per-book split is not published, and we will not guess one — a uniform split would be an assumption, not a fact.
"50% chance by" and "90% chance by" are calculated from the published rate, not published themselves: they are the number of spins that gives you at least that probability of having seen a book from that band at least once. They assume independent rolls, which is how a published per-spin rate behaves.
How the Clover Time grimoire roll works
Clover Time grimoires come from the Grimoire Tower, and the currency is Crystal Mana rather than the spins you use at the Hage Priest. One crystal buys one roll. The board documents the tower's pity ladder but leaves the crystal card's acquisition section blank, so how you farm crystals is documented elsewhere: chests publish their own crystal rates, a world Mana Wolf drops fragments at 30%, and three subscriptions grant a monthly stipend. The full breakdown is on the mana crystals page.
The Clover Time grimoire pity ladder
The Grimoire Tower card on the developer board publishes a guaranteed-drop ceiling, in Crystal Mana:
| Guaranteed tier | Crystal Mana |
|---|---|
| Epic | 50 |
| Legendary | 100 |
| Mythic | 250 |
The same card adds that some subscriptions reduce the pity by 30% — the board links four of them. That would put the Mythic ceiling at 175 Crystal Mana for subscribers. Which subscriptions qualify is not stated on the board; the database lists them.
Note that pity and the 50%/90% columns above answer different questions. Pity is a hard ceiling: you cannot go past 250 crystals without a Mythic. The 50%/90% columns are the odds of getting there sooner. For Anti Magic both land close together — the published 0.5% rate needs about 460 spins for a 90% chance, which is well past the 250 ceiling, so in practice the pity counter is what you will hit.
Spins are not Crystal Mana — the two currencies do not cross over
This trips up almost everyone in the first week, because two different rolls run on two different currencies and the game never says so out loud:
- Crystal Mana → the Grimoire Tower, and only the Grimoire Tower. This is your ability kit. 250 of them guarantees a Mythic.
- Spins → the Hage Priest, for race, social class and trait. Spins cannot be spent at the tower.
That matters when you are hunting free rolls, because most Clover Time codes pay spins, not Crystal Mana. On the codes page only FIRSTSHUTDOWN and BETARELEASE pay Crystal Mana directly — so codes are a fast route to rerolling your race and only a top-up for crystals. The mana crystals page ranks the routes that actually work for the tower.
Clover Time grimoire drop rates and rarity bands
Four of the ten Clover Time grimoires sit in the Common band, which is why most early rolls feel repetitive. The grimoire drop rates across the whole table are only six bands deep and total exactly 100%:
- Common — 50% (4 grimoires, ~2.0 spins on average)
- Uncommon — 30% (1 grimoire, ~3.3 spins on average)
- Rare — 15% (1 grimoire, ~6.7 spins on average)
- Epic — 3% (2 grimoires, ~33.3 spins on average)
- Legendary — 1.5% (1 grimoire, ~66.7 spins on average)
- Mythic — 0.5% (1 grimoire, ~200 spins on average)
Rarity is not the same as power
The most expensive mistake in Clover Time is assuming the colour of a grimoire predicts its strength — the published numbers say otherwise. The full case, with the Ice and Chain examples, is made on the grimoire tier list.
Data completeness — what the developer has and has not published
We would rather show a gap than fill it with a guess. As of the last check:
- 51 abilities are documented across the ten grimoires, each with a name.
- 35 of them have base damage published. Explosive Flame and Battle Lightning list ability names but no numbers.
- The scaling stat is published for the six grimoires that use the structured ability format. Where a row reads "—", the developer has not said.
- The pity ladder is published (see above). Crystal acquisition is not — the crystal card's acquisition section is empty on the board.
- Awakenings are marked as in development for at least one grimoire, so expect this page to change with Update 1.0 on 10 October 2026.
Frequently asked questions
How many Clover Time grimoire rolls does Anti Magic take?
The published rate is 0.5%, so the average is about 200 spins. For a 90% chance you would need around 460 — but the tower's pity ceiling guarantees a Mythic at 250 Crystal Mana, so 250 is the realistic worst case rather than 460.
How many grimoires are in Clover Time?
Ten at launch, across six rarity bands. Four are Common, and only one — Anti Magic — sits in the Mythic band at 0.5%.
Where do you roll for a Clover Time grimoire?
At the Grimoire Tower, using Crystal Mana. This is a separate currency and a separate location from the Hage Priest, where race, social class and trait are rolled with spins.
What are the Clover Time grimoire drop rates?
Common 50%, Uncommon 30%, Rare 15%, Epic 3%, Legendary 1.5% and Mythic 0.5%. The six bands total exactly 100%, and four of the ten grimoires sit in the Common band.
How many rolls does a Mythic Clover Time grimoire take?
The Mythic band is published at 0.5%, which is one in 200 rolls on average. The tower's published pity ladder guarantees a Mythic at 250 Crystal Mana, so that ceiling arrives before the roughly 460 rolls a 90% chance would otherwise need.
